OnePlus Ivan (OnePlus Nord 2 CE) smartphone’s key specifications have been tipped before the phone goes official in India. Earlier this year, OnePlus launched a subdued version of the original OnePlus Nord, dubbed the OnePlus Nord Core Edition. Now, it seems that the Chinese smartphone manufacturer is gearing up for bringing a new version of the core-edition phone, carrying a OnePlus Nord 2 CE moniker. A OnePlus phone bearing model number IV2201, and codenamed Ivan passed through the BIS certification website earlier this month.
Now, noted leaker Yogesh Brar has confirmed OnePlus Nord 2 CE smartphone’s key specifications to 91mobiles. Aside from that, the leaker has shed more light on the Nord series handset’s price range and India launch timeline. If earlier reports are anything to go by, the much-awaited OnePlus phone could go official early next year. According to a report by MySmartPrice, the OnePlus Nord 2 CE could launch in early 2022. There is a possibility that the phone could launch either in January or mid-February.
OnePlus Nord 2 CE Specifications & Price (Expected)
The upcoming mid-range smartphone from OnePlus will reportedly sport a 6.4-inch AMOLED display that delivers a refresh rate of 90Hz, according to Yogesh. Furthermore, the phone packs a MediaTek Dimensity 900 5G processor under the hood. Aside from that, the tipster suggests that the Nord 2 CE. The panel will reportedly deliver an FHD+ resolution and feature a punch-hole notch, and an in-display fingerprint scanner. Under the hood, it is likely to pack an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 900 processor. To recall, the Nord 2 was the first OnePlus phone to use a MediaTek processor.

Aside from that, the phone will reportedly ship with 6GB or 12GB of RAM. The Nord 2 CE could go on sale with 12GB, 8GB, and 6GB of memory configurations. This will be similar to the existing Nord Core Edition. Moreover, the device could offer 256GB or 128GB of onboard storage capacity. The device will run Android 12 with OnePlus’ proprietary OxygenOS skin. For optics, the Nord phone will reportedly house a 64MP OmniVision camera. In addition to that, the device could feature an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2MP macro camera.
Upfront, the phone will probably feature a 16MP selfie camera. Furthermore, the Nord 2 CE will be drawing its juices from a 4,500mAh battery that supports 65W Warp Charge 65 fast-charging. On the downside, the Nord 2 CE will not come with an alert slider, unlike the OnePlus Nord CE. Nevertheless, it will retain the 3.5mm audio jack and come with a stereo speaker setup. The phone is housed in a plastic frame, while the back is made using glass material. Moreover, there’s a Corning Gorilla Glass on top.
Pricing & Availability
The OnePlus Nord 2 CE could set you back anywhere between INR 24,000 to INR 28,000. Regrettably, details about the phone’s availability and color options are still scarce at the moment. Nevertheless, some reports suggest that it will launch in early 2022.
