The OnePlus 9 series already made its debut much earlier than the timing previously established by its predecessors. However, the OnePlus 10 series will break new records launching in the first month of the year. This year, OnePlus didn’t bring T-tier versions of its flagships, and just the OnePlus 9R got a refresh. This already signaled us that the company was planning to bring its flagships earlier than usual to fill the gap left by the late-year flagships. After many rumors and speculation, no one else than OnePlus founder Pete Lau came to the public to make the announcement – the OnePlus 10 Pro flagship will arrive in January.
OnePlus 10 Pro alleged specs and launch date
The big news was confirmed via a post made by the executive on the Chinese micro-blogging site Weibo. The OnePlus 10 Pro will bring significant changes over its predecessor and a big upgrade in terms of performance. For instance, it will be the next device to enter the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 circle of smartphones. According to previous leaks and rumors, the device will also have an improved 32 MP selfie camera. The rumors also say that a 6.7-inch LTPO QHD+ AMOLED display is in tow with a 120 Hz refresh rate. There is a punch-hole cutout in the upper corner. So fans of symmetry will not be very happy.

In terms of internals, we can also expect up to 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and either 128 GB or 256 GB of Internal Storage. There should be a triple-camera set at the back as the OnePlus 9 Pro. We expect a 48 MP main camera, a 50 MP ultrawide snapper, and an 8 MP 3.3 X telephoto camera. Rumors point to a 5,000 mAh battery, supposedly supporting 80 W fast wired charging and 50 W fast wireless charging.
The handset should come with OxygenOS 12 in global markets and ColorOS 12 in China. There are rumors about a new software co-developed with Oppo, but no details have been shared.
The OnePlus 10 Pro will launch in China in the next month. Unfortunately, there is no word on global availability. OnePlus never took this route of bringing devices much earlier to China. So, if that is going to be the case, it will be a first. We still expect a global launch for the handsets. Worth noting that Pete Lau only mentions the OnePlus 10 Pro. Anyway, we can’t see a reason for the OnePlus 10 to not tag along with the handset. Of course, we still need to wait and see.
