Vivo’s hardware and gaming-focused sub-brand iQOO is preparing to reveal a new smartphone generation under its flagship segment. The new devices will come in the form of the iQOO 9 and iQOO 9 Pro. According to a leaked poster from China, the new flagships will go official on January 5.
The first week of iQOO is turning quite hectic with more and more companies making big announcements during these days. Now, iQOO is another one since it will reveal the iQOO 9 series on January 5. THe info comes straight from a leaked poster from China. The leak also suggests that the iQOO 9 will pack a racing stripe design and an unnecessarily huge camera island at the rear.
There is a huge rectangle at the back for three cameras. It sports three sensors and the rest is an empty area. We assume that iQOO is just trying to make this device different. After all, the iQOO 8 and 7 are already too similar when it comes to the camera design.
Gizchina News of the week
iQOO 9 and 9 Pro alleged specifications
According to the previous rumors, the 9 Pro will pack a primary 50 MP main camera. For the first time, the iQOO flagship series is bringing the gimbal-lie Optical Image Stabilization system from its predecessors. The other camera probably is for ultrawide shots, while the third should be a macro/depth sensor.
The iQOO 9 series will bring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. This chipset is made on the 4 nm process and brings 1 x ARM Cortex-X2 core clocked at up to 3 GHz. There are also 3 x ARM Cortex-A710 cores clocked at up to 2.5 GHz, plus 4 x ARM Cortex-A510 cores clocked at up to 1.8 GHz. The devices should come paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of Internal Storage. However, we wouldn’t be surprised to see a variant with 16 GB of RAM. Otherwise, iQOO will bring its virtual RAM feature through the OriginOS Ocean build. These devices may come with Android 12.
The iQOO 9 is set to come with a 6.78-inch QHD+ Curved AMOLED display with 120 Hz refresh rate. The vanilla iQOO 9, on the other hand, will pack a screen with flat edges and a more conventional Full HD resolution with the same 120 Hz refresh rate. The iQOO 9 Pro will come with a 4,700 mAh battery with 120 W fast-charging. The iQOO 9 will have a slightly smaller battery with the same charging capabilities.
We expect more details and official teasers to come in the next week. After all, iQOO will try to raise the hype for this launch.
