The iQOO 9 series was revealed in China back in the last month. Unlike the iQOO 8 lineup, the iQOO 9 series is expected to hit global markets pretty soon. The global rollout will start with India, on February 23. In addition to the vanilla and Pro models that are available in China, the company will also present a new iQOO 9 SE variant. Unfortunately, the company didn’t detail the exact specs coming with these smartphones. We can expect some similarities with the Chinese versions, but as usual, iQOO should bring them with slight differences. Today, the Indian branch has confirmed that the iQOO 9 lineup will have a 4,700 mAh battery with 120 W fast charging in India.
This may not sound like a big surprise for those who are early into iQOO’s recent story. However, last year, the brand launched iQOO 7 Legend in India. It was a rebranded iQOO 7 that charged slower at 66W instead of the 120W of the Chinese variant. So it’s good to hear that the global variants of the iQOO 9 series are keeping their charging speeds and battery capacity intact.
Gizchina News of the week
iQOO 9 and 9 Pro will keep 120 W charging on their 4,700 mAh battery
Worth noting that iQOO didn’t confirm if all three iQOO 9 series smartphones will have a 4,700 mAh battery and support 120W charging. However, the image posted by iQOO India shows a smartphone with a curved screen. That goes for the iQOO 9 Pro which has a slightly curved display. However, there is still hope for the vanilla smartphone as the official website confirms a 4,700 mAh battery with 120W charging. If the vanilla has, the Pro certainly will have. We don’t expect the SE variant to get the same treatment though.
The iQOO 9 SE could even come with a bigger battery with a 5,000 mAh capacity. However, the company will likely reduce the fast-charging speeds. It could be charged via the 66W present on last year’s iQOO flagships.
As far as the iQOO 9 and 9 Pro are concerned, the two devices will bring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. The camera department will be led by a 50 MP GN5 Gimbal Camera. There will also be an E5 AMOLED display with 2K resolution, 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, Intelligent Display Chip, and 50 W wireless charging. Now, we need to wait and see if these specs will be present on both variants. Worth noting, however, that the Pro already had its key specs confirmed through listings.
The iQOO 9 SE certainly has a weaker chipset, but we’re still betting on something from last year’s flagship segment.
