Earlier this month, Redmi unveiled its Redmi K50 Gaming Edition. The variant was the first to come under the Redmi K50 series in a sudden twist of fates. After all, last year, the Redmi K40 Gaming was the last device to be unveiled. As usual, the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition was disclosed in China, but will eventually find its way to international markets. As per the rumors, the device will be launched internationally as POCO F4 GT and will also be one of the devices kickstarting the POCO F4 series. The premium handset is expected to reach global markets in the upcoming weeks and some of its details have been revealed.
There will be just small changes, but as per the tipster Yogesh Brar, the POCO F4 GT will bring the same internals as its inspiration smartphone. The original variant is already a success in China, and we expect no less for the global markets.
POCO F4 GT specifications
The exact release date for the POCO F4 GT remains unknown. Meanwhile, the full specs sheet of the global variant has leaked online. The POCO Flagship smartphone will flaunt a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with a Full HD+ resolution. Moreover, we expect a 120 Hz refresh rate support. Just like the original device, it will bring a flat AMOLED screen.
Gizchina News of the week
Under the hood, we’ll have the almighty Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. The tipster claims that the POCO F4 GT will launch in global markets with 8 GB and 12 GB of RAM. There will also be 128 GB and 256 GB of Internal UFS 3.1 storage. The phone draws its powers from a 4,700 mAh battery with support for blazing fast 120 W charging.
Moving around the back, the handset will bring a triple-camera setup. It comprises a primary 64 MP main camera, a Sony IMX686 sensor. The camera setup also brings an 8 MP ultrawide snapper and a 2 MP macro shooter. For selfies and video calls, the handset has a 20 MP Sony IMX596 sensor.
The POCO F4 GT will pack shoulder trigger buttons for an enhanced gaming experience. We assume that the global variant will bring Android 12 straight out of the box with MIUI 13 running on top.
The exact pricing details for the POCO F4 GT remain a mystery. For comparison, the device’s price in China starts at CNY 3,299 which is just around $521. However, the global variant may be costlier, and we can expect it to sit between $550 and $600. However, this isn’t a bad price considering how expensive the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 smartphones are.
Worth noting that other Redmi K50 series smartphones are coming soon. These will integrate the POCO F4 series including the Dimensity 9000-powered version.
