Just like previous events that happened after COVID-19, the company will keep using the digital-only format of gathering. No members of the media will attend in person. In fact, we don’t expect this to change until 2023. Anyway, as far as the new event is concerned, we expect the company to finally bring the long-rumored iPhone SE 3 or iPhone SE 5G. It will also update the AirPad Air lineup and reports suggest the launch of new Macs.
iPhone SE 3, or iPhone SE 5G, or even iPhone SE 2022
According to the recent reports, Apple will use the event to disclose the long-rumored third generation of the iPhone SE. The name isn’t confirmed, and we saw several iterations of it in the past few months. Even the design is a mystery. However, the most reliable sources have been suggesting the very same design for another year. The device will keep up with the thick bezels and the Touch ID home button. The big difference, however, will be in the hardware.
It will bring an Apple A15 Bionic processor, which means iPhone 13 performance as well as 5G connectivity. According to renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, it will be the cheapest 5G iPhone. There are reports suggesting that Apple will cut the price of the current 4G iPhone SE to as much as $200, but it lacks evidence.
Gizchina News of the week
There are also rumors of an iPhone SE with an iPhone XS design. However, this particular product shouldn’t see the light of the day in 2022. Reports suggest that this variant was delayed for another year. Given the confusing schedule that Apple uses for the iPhone SE lineup, it’s hard to determine whether it comes in 2023 or only in 2024.
Apple iPad Air 2022
Apple may also release a new iPad Air 2022. It shouldn’t bring any significant design change. However, it is getting a faster chip and 5G connectivity. The company may update the camera to bring DFaceTime with the Center Stage feature. This has been a significant feature that came with the iPadOS 15.
Apple Mac mini and MacBook Pro
When it comes to the Mac lineup, Rumors say that Apple will introduce a new high-end version of the Mac Mini. One of the big novelties is that this version will come with new design and Apple M1 Pro and M1 Maxc chips. The new Mac mini will replace the existing Intel Mac mini variants.
Finally, the company is touted to come with a new upgraded 13-inch MacBook Pro. This particular model will bring the Apple M2 chip, the long waited for Apple M1 successor. However, despite the new generation, it shouldn’t perform better than the existing Apple M1 Pro and Max chips. Anyway, the 13-inch variant will be a lower-end version of the fancy 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models.
The Apple M2 will boast an 8-Core CPU just like the Apple M1. However, there will be significant improvements in performance, efficiency. The GPU will also get treatment in the new upgrade. According to rumors, the M2 will come in 9-core and 10-core GPU options.
Where to watch?
Apple will stream the event live on its website. As usual, the company will also make it available seamlessly through the Apple TV app. The event kicks off at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time on March 8. Obviously, we’ll be covering all the details and will bring deep details about the new products unleashed at the event.
