Apple made billions by removing charger and EarPods from iPhone boxes

One of the controversial decisions for a large number of users was that Apple refused to put charger and headphones with the new iPhone smartphones. All this was explained by the fact that the company cares about the environment and reduces the harmful burden on the environment, and at the same time on aircraft carrying cargo. Apple‘s plan is to use smaller iPhone boxes to reduce annual carbon emissions by 2 million tons, the equivalent of 500,000 cars off the road.

But not everyone believed in the good intentions of the Cupertino company. According to the Daily Mail, removing the earphones and charger from the iPhone box saved Apple at least $6.5 billion in total. And those users who wanted to charge their iPhone faster had to spend $19, and sometimes more, to buy a 20W charger.

When you count the millions of iPhones that Apple sells each year around the world; it turns out that the company managed to save a lot on a stripped-down package. Adding up the amount of money Apple saved as a result of this move; and adding the amount saved on shipping, analysts came up with $6.5 billion. And that’s without taking into account the $293.4 million that, according to the Daily Mail, users have spent on accessories.

That $6.5 billion goes into Apple’s coffers, boosting its profits and pushing up its share price. In turn, this allows the initiators of this idea, including Tim Cook; to receive awards of millions of dollars for this “innovation”.

Recently, Apple, as expected, introduced the third generation iPhone SE. The smartphone combines classic design and the most modern processor. And it’s Apple’s most affordable fifth-generation (5G) smartphone.

As repeatedly stated long before the presentation, the new iPhone SE looks no different from its predecessor; which was released in 2020, which, in turn, repeated the design of the iPhone 8 from 2017.
