Coolpad aim at the low-end market with the new Coolpad 8295 quad-core phone with 5-inch display at just $130.
It seems each year Chinese phone makers choose a new lower price point and start a price war. In the past 999 Yuan ($160) was the magic number, but due to the release of the Xiaomi Hongmi, phone makers are now battling it out at 799 Yuan ($130).
Gizchina News of the week
The latest entrant to the price war is Coolpad with their 5-inch Coolpad 8295 smartphone. At 5-inch the 8295 is the largest of the bunch (from Xiaomi, JiaYu, Beidou and others) but the large panel has meant other areas have had so suffer. a 5 mega-pixel rear camera is on board rather than 8MP, the CPU is a lower speed 1.2Ghz unit and the display is a QHd model/
Still at 799 Yuan the phone is still a nice option for those wanting a big brand model at a lower price. Well, it is if you happen to live in China and use China Mobiles TD-SCDMA network as that is the only one the 8295 will support.

silly question, but will this work in the Philippines?
You need full phone specification (band/frequency) to check compatibility with your local network.

Even with this page in front of me showing the frequencies that used in the Philippines I still can’t make up my mind whether or not this device will function there or not, can anybody make sense of this and let me know, thank you.
Also, would anybody know if this device works in the US market??? I’ll talk a look on the chart first, but please chime in 😉
