Chinese manufacturer, Xiaomi, is getting set to unveil a couple of smartphones some of which are flagships. A few days ago,Ā Lu Weibing, president of Xiaomi Group China and general manager of the Redmi brand, made a post on Weibo with a mysterious new phone. The post signature shows “Xiaomi phone” which shows that it’s an internal smartphone. Since the post, there have been speculations that the “Xiaomi Phone” is the upcoming Redmi Note 12 series. At present, this series has obtained a network access license and the model numbers are 22041216UC and 22041216C.
From the network license listing, there will be at least two models in the Redmi Note 12 series. We expect the company to unveil the Redmi Note 12 and Redmi Note 12 Pro. Previously, @DCS claims that the Redmi Note 12 series will come with theĀ MediaTek Dimensity 8000 flagship processor. This is a lower version of the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 processor. The Dimensity 8000 uses TSMC’s 5nm manufacturing process. It comes with four Cortex A78 large cores + four Cortex A55 small cores. The main frequency of the large core is 2.75GHz (the main frequency of the Dimensity 8100 is 2.85GHz).

In addition, the Redmi Note 12 series adopts a centre punch-hole screen solution. It is not yet sure whether the display will be OLED or LCD. However, we expect this smartphone to support 67W super-fast charging. As for its launch date, this smartphone may debut in May.
Redmi Note 12 series speculations
Previously, Lu Weibing said that the Redmi Note series will be released every six months.Ā In the second half of last year, Redmi launched the Note 11 series. Thus, we expect this new Note 12 series to arrive in the first half of this year.
There are also speculations that the Note 12 series could also use the Dimensity 1300 SoCs. The Dimensity 1300 is based on TSMC’s 6nm process. The eight-core CPU contains 4 Cortex-A78s, of which 1 Cortex-A78 is a super core with a main frequency of up to 3.0GHz, and there are 4 Cortex A55 cores with a main frequency of 2.0GHz. The GPU of this processor is ARM Mali-G77 MC9.
It is worth noting that the industrial design of the Note 12 series is also a highlight. @Digital Chat Station claims that the Redmi Note 12 series has a highly recognizable industrial design. This device will obviously be a flagship smartphone and it will come with a very powerful performance as well as a decent battery life. Furthermore, this smartphone will also come with a pretty fast charging capacity.
