Some movies get high ratings on IMDB just because they star very popular actors. Many of them have a budget exceeding $200 million. The third group of much-reviewed movies shows unacceptable scenes. We can list reasons that make movies popular for hours. But today, we are not going to talk about popular movies. Vise versa, we will focus on the underrated movies.
There are too many factors affecting a movie’s popularity. For instance, no movie released after Titanic (in a short period of time, of course) has a high rating. Why? Because Titanic hit the jackpot. It is one of the most popular releases on the globe. Another reason, if all parts of “The Lord of the rings” were released in the same week, at least, one of them wouldn’t be so beloved.
So as you see a movie can succeed or fail. No one can guarantee their success and no one can predict their failure. But when we watch a movie that makes us take a look at the way we approach life, we always wonder why no one recommended it to us, why we haven’t known about it, and why it has got so few 5-star reviews.
We are going to talk about a few underrated movies. But you understand that this list could be much longer.
Killing Them Softly (2012)

There have been many films made on the topic of card games, hitting the jackpot in a casino, a robbery, and everything else in the same vein. And what is amazing, American film companies still manage to shoot similar projects on this topic but they will succeed if it is cooler and original in their own way. The irreplaceable Ray Liotta again takes part in this movie. His appearance on the screen is already identified with card games or casinos, and it is again extremely interesting to watch how once again someone wants to secure a beautiful life for himself. Surprisingly, this movie has been nominated for a palm branch at the Cannes Film Festival.
Jennifer’s Body (2009)

Blackhat (2015)

Nick is released from prison to help in the investigation: for the successful capture of the attacker, he demands clemency.
