But, realizing that transformations and discovering its potential are better alone; without looking back at the ossified minds of top managers of the social network; he proposed to acquire Twitter in full for $ 43 billion. And he is ready to pay in cash.
Whether the shareholders and employees of the company rejoiced is not known for certain. Meanwhile, Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal arranged a meeting with the Twitter staff where, among other things, he discussed the possibility of a deal with Elon Musk. He said that the decision has not yet been made and did not name the date when the verdict will be issued. The only thing he assured was that he would be in the best interest of Twitter’s shareholders.

It is unlikely that top managers will approve the deal. If Elon Musk’s proposal is rejected, then, in his opinion, this step will go against the interests of shareholders, about whom the board of directors cares so much. After all, it is up to the shareholders to decide what meets their interests and what does not. At the same time, the billionaire said that in case of failure, he prepared a plan “B”. He did not share the details of the plan itself.
If the head of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk, can actually buy Twitter, the platform is likely to change radically. Speaking at the TED conference, the businessman explained why he decided to purchase the platform and what he would like to correct in it.
Musk described his interest in the social network as follows: “In fact, Twitter has become a kind of city square. It’s really important that people have an idea of both reality and that they can speak freely within the law”.
In terms of potential changes, Musk noted the need to open up the service’s algorithms and minimize administration interference with content. “In any interference with people’s tweets, such actions should be obvious. For anyone to see that action was being taken and there was no behind-the-scenes manipulation through algorithms or by hand”. And the code behind the algorithm should be available on GitHub so that the public can check it out for themselves.
