In Russia, prices for Apple’s iPhone smartphones have returned to the level of early February. Popular models of smartphones from other vendors also experience a drop in cost, RIA Novosti reports with reference to a study by Price.ru price aggregator, and several other websites.
At the moment, the average cost of the iPhone 12 64 GB is 57,098 rubles ($1,014); which is 22% lower than the price of the smartphone in the first quarter of this year, equal to 69,484 rubles ($1,234). The cost of the iPhone 11 Pro 256 GB model decreased by 23% to 50,758 rubles ($900), the average price of the iPhone 11 Pro Max 256 GB is now at the level of the first quarter of this year – 64,726 rubles ($1,148).

Price reductions were also noted for devices from other vendors. For example, the average cost of the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE at the end of the second quarter is 38,949 rubles ($690); which is 9% lower than the price tag of the previous quarter. The price of the Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro 8/256 GB smartphone has returned to the level of the first quarter (26,410 rubles); as well as the cost of the Samsung Galaxy A52 256 GB (32,920 rubles).
Similar processes are taking place in the notebook market. The average cost of the MacBook Air (2020) in the second quarter decreased by 34% to 96,828 rubles ($1,717); although demand for it increased by 71%. The price of Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro fell by 15% to 99,798 rubles amid a 64% increase in demand; while the price of the HP 15s-eq2022ur laptop fell by 139% to 55,250 rubles ($980).
It is also reported that in the second quarter, users’ interest in used equipment decreased. The demand for buying smartphones from hands fell by 8%, for laptops – by 28%. In addition, there was a drop in online demand for equipment repair. In the category of smartphones, demand decreased by 28%, laptops – by 20%.
