The rumors have been spreading quite a lot since the beginning of this year about Motorola’s upcoming foldable and 200 MP camera smartphone. Both will come with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. The latter will carry Moto Edge X30 Pro and Edge 30 Ultra moniker depending on the market. The former, is the company’s new take on the Moto RAZR series, the Moto RAZR 2022. These devices were expected to come at the same time. However, it seems that the foldable phone Moto RAZR 2022 is getting further delayed. There is no timeline for the foldable phone’s arrival. So we can only imagine that a problem has emerged in the final hour.
Moto RAZR 2022 was delayed until further notice
According to leaks, the Moto RAZR 2022 will carry the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. The device will not bring massive changes in design. However, the screen gets a big upgrade leaving the huge bottom chin behind. The company has teased the device and showed it all its glory. However, something happened in the meantime forcing the company to push the launch forward. Other confirmed specs of the foldable, include a 50 MP main camera, 32 MP selfie snapper, and a tepid 2,800 mAh battery. The device will have a hard time trying to compete with the consolidated Galaxy Z Flip series that is about to get its fourth iteration in August.
Gizchina News of the week
The Moto RAZR project was firstly introduced in 2019. The device arrived with an appeal to nostalgia featuring a design reminiscent of the clamshell RAZR smartphone series. The device was not a huge success due to its mid-range specifications. One year later, the company revealed a 5G version. Samsung has introduced something better with the Galaxy Z Flip leaving no room for the RAZR. The Moto RAZR 2022 promises to fix some mistakes. For instance, it brings a cutting-edge flagship SoC, and the design is more on par with modern smartphones.
The Moto RAZR certainly needs to prove itself in this segment. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait a bit longer to see if it will succeed.
