According to reports, a former Lamborghini executive has joined Apple to work on developing electric vehicles. Apple hired Luigi Taraborrelli, a 20-year Lamborghini veteran, to help lead the design of the electric car. According to the data, Taraborrelli is responsible for the research and development of Lamborghini’s chassis and vehicle dynamics engineering. Apple’s plans to develop self-driving cars are almost an open secret in Silicon Valley. While many self-driving car developers have touted the “disruptive” technology, Apple has yet to publicly admit it.
Apple’s car-building project “Titan” has struggled for eight years. In the past eight years, there have been four changes in the executive in charge of the project. There are also significant changes in the goals of the project. In this way, Apple has faced many challenges such as pointless demonstrations, false hopes, and map obstacles in the process of pushing for “self-driving” cars.

But the timing is fluid, and hitting that 2025 target is dependent on the company’s ability to complete the self-driving system – an ambitious task on that schedule.
Apple needs its production bases to be in the U.S. and not anywhere else. The company will not accept Mexico and will certainly not accept China. Apple also needs a supply chain system of batteries, screen panels, and semiconductors.
The design is not a problem for Apple, this aspect appears to be Apple’s strength. The company will not also struggle with software as shown by its recent electric car patents. However, It will have to rely on Asia for supply of other components.
