Samsung has been doing a stellar job in providing updates for its flagship smartphones. The company now offers around 3-4 years of Android and Security updates for its flagship devices, surpassing brands that were once considered the best in software support. It’s worth noting that the brand has also been rolling constant security patches for its flagship devices. Today, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G, which is already old at this point, is getting an August 2022 patch. The update arrives before August, and meanwhile, the Pixel 6a is getting July 2022 security patch.

However, it’s just a matter of time until Samsung decides to expand the update to other markets. Apparently, the initial batch serves as a “testing phase”. Once the company is sure that everything is flowing smoothly, it will expand the update to other regions. Of course, the update is not a massive one and seems to bring only the August 2022 security patch and a couple of underhood improvements and optimizations.
