Vivo Y77e goes official with Dimensity 810 and 5000mAh battery

Vivo Y77e

It has been a while since the latest Vivo smartphones came to the flagship market. That, if you’re not considering the iQOO 10 series as part of Vivo’s ecosystem. Anyway, the company has been focusing on the mid-range and low-end segments in the past few months. But we may see a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 smartphone popping out, because yes. While that does not happen, the company keeps bringing affordable smartphones to fill the segment. Today, it has introduced the Vivo Y77e which is an affordable smartphone with compelling specs and 5G connectivity.

Vivo Y77e specifications

The Vivo Y77e keeps the formula of the low-end segment – a reasonable processor + a big battery. For comparison, it’s a lesser version of the Vivo Y77 that was released in China with Dimensity 930. The Vivo Y77e brings a MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC. It’s not the most powerful Dimensity chip, but it’s a clear evolution over the Dimensity 700 series that keep appearing in low-end smartphones, even in 2022. Apart from the 6 nm octa-core chipset, we have three memory configurations. The base one has 6 GB of RAM with 128 GB of Storage, the intermediary model brings 8 GB of RAM with 128 GB of Storage. Vivo has been quite generous to also bring a variant with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of Internal Storage. The phone also has a micro SD card slot for storage expansion by up to 1 TB.

Vivo Y77e

The Vivo Y77e flaunts a gorgeous 6.58-inch Full HD+ OLED screen with a 60 Hz refresh rate and 180 Hz touch sampling rate. To refuel the entire package, the phone has a 5,000 mAh battery that charges with 18 W charging. As a good low-end phone, the device brings a waterdrop notch design. Moving around to the back, we have a camera design that follows some of Vivo’s recent tendencies. There is a big rectangle that has two big holes. The first hole houses the 13 MP main camera, while the second brings the 2 MP macro unit and a small decorative hole. The camera gets a big LED flash helper for darker environments. For selfies and video calls, the device packs an 8 MP selfie shooter.

Vivo Y77e

Some will enjoy the OLED panel, but others will miss the high refresh rate. You can’t have everything in the low-end category. Worth noting, that the Vivo Y77e is not so cheap! It comes with a price tag of CNY 1,699 ($250) for the 8 GB / 128 GB tier. The phone is already available in Malaysia with a different moniker and slightly different specs. We are curious to see whether this one will remain limited to China or will set sail to other countries soon.
