Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has minimal design changes

Galaxy S23 Ultra

We may be several months away from the Samsung Galaxy S23 series launch. However, the leak floodgates are definitely open! After a multitude of leaks, we finally got design renders showing the design of the flagships. The Samsung Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ had their design revealed a few days ago. Samsung is bringing them to the design of the Galaxy S22 Ultra to create a unique visual identity. Therefore, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra will not take major departures from its predecessor. The device now has its own renders showing only minimal changes in design.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra looks exactly like its predecessor the S22 Ultra. You probably won’t notice any difference at all, unless you dig in and compare both phones. However, these are just rendered. The final product may end up being even more similar to its predecessor.

According to the report, the main three camera circle islands (the raindrop island) will protrude slightly more. The two auxiliary cameras will protrude less. When it comes to the display, the phone seems to be flatter. Apparently, Samsung is ditching the curves slightly. If you were not satisfied enough with the boxy design of the Galaxy S22 Ultra, then you’ll be happier with the Galaxy S23 Ultra. The new flagship seems to pursue the “Galaxy Note” identity even more with a squareish look.

Gizchina News of the week

The Galaxy S23 Ultra dimensions are 163.3 x 78.1 x 8.8 mm. To recall, the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s dimensions were 163.3 x 77.9 x 8.9 mm. So the new device is slightly, just slightly, thinner and taller.

The three Galaxy S23 family members will look very similar. However, the specifications are way different. For many, the Galaxy S23 Ultra will remain the “true flagship” of the series. The device has a bigger battery and better cameras. In fact, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is rumored to bring a 200 MP camera. Apparently, it will have an all-new sensor, the ISOCELL HP2. It will put Samsung beyond the other brands that are launching 200 MP phones with the “older” ISOCELL HP1 shooter.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra may also charge faster than its predecessor. Although a 3C listing certifies it with 25W charging, we assume this is only for the Chinese version. Just like the S22 Ultra, other variants may have up to 45W fast charging.

The design is controversial for some

Some may not be happy with the new Galaxy S-series design. After all, they’re looking like Galaxy A-devices. Anyway, Samsung apparently wants to create a seamless visual identity for all its smartphones. Anyway, it’s up to you to decide if this $1,200+ smartphone looks like a premium phone.
