The upcoming Oppo Reno 9 Pro+ 5G smartphone’s specifications have been revealed even before its official launch. Oppo is reportedly gearing up to bring the Reno 9 series into the Chinese market.
Reliable tipster Digital Chat Station recently revealed key details about the Reno 9 series in September via a Weibo post. Notably, the lineup will include the Reno 9, Reno 9 Pro, and Reno 9 Pro+ 5G smartphones.
Now, Oppo will reportedly launch the Reno 9 series smartphones in India in January 2023. However, the company is still mum on the lineup’s exact launch date in the country.
In the meantime, the Oppo Reno 9 series specifications have popped up on the internet. A new leak has shed some light on the Oppo Reno 9 Pro+ 5G smartphone’s key specifications.
The top-end Reno 9 Pro+ 5G will succeed the Reno 8 Pro+ 5G in China. Also, Oppo could launch the phone in India with the Reno 9 Pro 5G moniker.

The latest piece of information comes from tipster Digital Chat Station (via TechGoing). First off, the 5G-ready phone will pack a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC under the hood.
Interestingly, DCS recently indicated the Reno 9 will come with a Snapdragon 778G SoC. Moreover, it will sport a 6.7-inch OLED panel that offers a Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
The phone will reportedly have curved sides. Furthermore, the handset will feature an in-display fingerprint scanner.
The Reno 9 Pro+ 5G will use a 4700mAh battery to draw its juices. This cell will probably support 80W fast charging. The device is also likely to get a new sensor on the back.
Notably, it might house a new 50MP Sony IMX890 camera. Also, the tipster suggests it will have Oppo’s Mari Silicon NPU. Details about the other two rear camera sensors are still scarce.
Upfront, the device will reportedly sport a 32MP selfie camera. The Reno 9 Pro+ 5G could compete against the existing and upcoming budget flagship smartphones.
