Motorola is gearing up to introduce new smartphones in the flagship segment. Now that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is out, we expect the brand to introduce its first flagship with it in the form of Motorola X40. The phone cleared TENAA certification in China, and its global counterpart, Motorola Edge 40 Pro cleared FCC. The phone will likely be followed by a Motorola Edge 40. Although the spotlights are on the new flagships, the company is also preparing new mid-range and low-end phones, presumably for the G and E series. Today, a budget Motorola phone passed 3C and TENAA certifications.
We are talking about the same low-end phone since it passed by 3C and TENAA with the same XT2335-3 designation. As usual, the 3C certification does not bring many details regarding this Motorola phone. However, TENAA is way more open to details.

Motorola XT2335-3 specifications
According to TENNA, the mysterious Motorola XT2335-3 packs a 6.5-inch IPS LCD screen with a modest HD+ resolution of 1,600 x 720 pixels. The phone also packs an unnamed Octa-Core CPU that has its main cores running at up to 2.2 GHz. We’re not expecting a powerful chipset, hopefully, it will bring something with 5G connectivity. But it’s hard to set things into stone right now. The curious part is about the RAM and Storage configurations.
The handset will have variants with 4 GB, 6 GB, 8 GB, and even 12 GB of RAM. Storage-wise, it has 64 GB, 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB of Internal Storage. That sounds like overkill. It’s weird to imagine a budget phone with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of Internal Storage. Numbers are good, but they are not everything. 12 GB of RAM can be overkill if the processor turns out to be weak.
The budget Motorola device will have a dual-camera setup. However, we have the main camera with 50 MP resolution and a decorative 2 MP for depth sensing. The device also gets an 8 MP selfie shooter. We don’t think this phone will occupy the same stage as the Motorola X40. We expect a quieter release to happen in China in the coming weeks. The device cleared two important Chinese certification processes, so it’s just a matter of time until it gets released.
