The tactile rotating bezel, one of Samsung’s most cherished wristwatch features, was dropped for the Galaxy Watch 5. The company first introduced it in the Gear S2 watch and remained an optional function all the way up to the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. It allows you to choose apps by turning the dial.
Nevertheless, neither the ordinary Watch 5 nor the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro supported it. Instead, Samsung opted for a haptic alternative that isn’t quite as enjoyable or accurate. Samsung had it all wrong with this one. The lack of the rotating bezel made many users changed their minds on the Watch 5.
Samsung to Bring Back the Rotating Bezel in Galaxy Watch 6
Samsung apparently plans to bring back the rotating bezel for the next generation. This clearly suggests that the company has learnt its lesson. However, this will come just for the Pro version. This claim was made in a video by a Korean Youtuber by name Super Roader. The leaker claims to be a former Samsung employee. Due to this, he has a history of being accurate. You cannot totally write his leaks off.
It certainly appears to be a wise course of action. Apart from the large battery and mapping features, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro has come under a lot of criticisms. Most users claim the pro model does not have enough specs and features for its $170 extra over the standard model. Reintroducing a feature that many users love and making it available only to Pro models would be a smart move. At least, it will convince people to spend more money on a more costly model.
Although not absolutely necessary, a rotating bezel is a pleasant addition that will catch the attention of wearable enthusiasts. By providing a few more minor extras, Samsung will be able to convince wearable buyers that they should upgrade to the Galaxy Watch 6.
Battery Details of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6
This is the second rumor to circulate this month, despite the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 not being anticipated until the fall. It may likely launch the same date as the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5. The basic Galaxy Watch 6 may receive a slight battery boost this time around. Going from 284mAh to 300mAh (40mm) and 410mAh to 425mAh (44mm), according to Galaxy Club.
Given that the existing model already has a bigger 590mAh battery, upgrade in this area is probably less of a priority. Even though every little thing matters in the world of wearable. There was no mention of a similar battery upgrade for the Pro model.
