It is not shocking that TV and movie streaming services want to expand their horizons. Netflix games are currently available for iPhone, Android, and iPad users, but Netflix TV doesn’t have them yet. Good news!! All those games are coming to Netflix TV, and Netflix Games with iPhone controller is becoming a reality.
As for the game controllers, the code within the app suggests that users already have controllers. It refers to using an Android or iPhone as a controller and playing Netflix games with an iPhone controller. Bloomberg developer Steve Moser in this tweet, said,
“Netflix is working to bring its nascent video game service to televisions for the first time, moving beyond smartphones and tablets in a sign of its growing ambitions.
Code hidden in the Netflix app includes references to games played on TVs, signaling that such a plan is in motion. The code also mentions “using phones as video game controllers.”
Netflix Games With iPhone Controller: Is It Possible?
The code inside the app says this,
“A game on your TV needs a controller to play. Would you like to use this phone as a game controller?”
Gizchina News of the week
Netflix games have been available on the web since 2021. Presently, there are 50 games available, while 40 more games are in the pipeline and will release later this year. However, there is no clue what Netflix is thinking about and what it is trying to implement. The company’s gaming chief notes that it is seriously exploring a cloud gaming service for itself.
Apparently, users will be able to access Netflix games from the App Store. Netflix claims to enhance the TV experience by offering more than just casual games. The company is also hinting at the development of its own game development studio. Netflix spokesperson says,
“The company said Tuesday, as part of its earnings release, that it has an additional 55 games in the pipeline. Fourteen of those games are being built by Netflix’s own studios, Verdu said, adding that the company will soon open an additional studio in Southern California. The studio will be led by Chacko Sonny, who previously served as executive producer for Activision Blizzard’s Overwatch franchise, according to a Netflix spokesperson.”
This is the beginning of a great cause because the video streaming service has been long waiting for a solution to make its service attractive. The addition of games to its TV will surely impact its revenue and user engagement.
