It seems that Motorola has an entire gang of foldable phones for release this year. The company has been teasing the launch of its new foldable phone. As per the rumors, the phone will launch as Moto RAZR 40 Ultra, but it’s not the only one, as a Moto RAZR 40 is also coming. The latter has been the target of leaks recently, now we’ve got a couple of renders that show the design of the Motorola RAZR 40 Ultra.
Motorola RAZR 40 Ultra leaked specifications
The latest set of renders comes straight from the leakster Evan Blass. They confirm the phone’s design refresh as well as some of the vivid color options coming for the phone. The phone keeps its dual-camera approach with an LED flash to help in dark environments. It adopts a clamshell foldable form factor with a tall display with a centered punch-hole camera. The bezels are quite slim and are clearly distant from the past of this foldable series. The phone will adopt a metal frame and we can spot this by looking at the antenna lines. The right edge houses the power and volume buttons. The bottom part brings the USB Type C port, speaker grille, and two visible microphones.
Gizchina News of the week
As per the leaked renders, the Motorola RAZR 40 Ultra will get three color options – Barberry, Black, and Blue. The report also confirms an AMOLED screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 2,640 x 1,080 pixels. This goes against other rumors pointing to the use of a 144 Hz or 165 Hz. The phone will have a larger outer display, perhaps the biggest in the category. As per the leaks, its size will be around 3.4 to 3.6 inches.
Despite all the specs, the phone will have just the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Don’t get me wrong, while this CPU is still powerful, it fails to compete with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 on the Vivo X Fold2 and the upcoming Z Flip5. So, the Motorola RAZR 40 Ultra will be in the same territory as the Oppo Find N2 Flip. Besides the chipset, a Geekbench listing also confirmed 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of Storage. The phone will bring a 3,640 mAh which is quite good for this form factor. The phone will have a 12 MP Sony IMX563 camera and a 13 MP SK Hynix Hi1336 ultrawide snapper. For selfies and video calls, the handset will have a 32 MP snapper.
The phone’s launch is expected very soon, as Motorola keeps launching teasers to promote it.
