Google Pixel 7a phone hides this “exclusive” feature

Google Pixel 7a

Google recently released its latest mid – range mobile phone, the Google Pixel 7a. Since the launch of this device, there has been a lot of attention on this mobile phone. A new report now reveals that the Google Pixel 7a will come with a feature that no other Pixel phone has in the past. This device comes with a feature that allows the device to automatically reduce the vibration intensity when the screen is facing up. At the moment, only the Pixel 7a seems to have this feature. But there are claims that the feature will make its way to other Pixel phones in the future.

To get this feature on the Google Pixel 7a, go to Settings — Sounds & Vibrations — Vibration & Haptics, and then “Adaptive Notification Vibration”.

The adaptive notification vibration “reduces the intensity of the vibration when the phone is stationary and the screen is facing up“. This reduces distractions to a certain extent. Currently, this feature does not allow users to custom the level to which the vibration can reduce. Google also recently released a support document about the feature. However, the document does not explain how adaptive notification vibration works, only how to turn it on.

Google had hidden the “adaptive notification vibration” beta function on the Pixel phone Android 13 QPR2 Beta 1. But it has not been officially launched for other Pixel phones.

Google Pixel 7a new phone will “only” get three years of major update

According to Google’s plan, Pixel 7a (with Android 13 pre-installed) will receive three years of major Android version updates. Also, this device will also get five years of security updates. This means that the Pixel 7a will be updated to at least Android 16. The device will also get security updates until at least May 2028. In contrast, the Samsung Galaxy A54 mid-range mobile phone can provide up to four years of Android major version updates. This means that the device will get major updates up to Android 17 which will launch in 2028.
