After launching the RX 7000 series in late 2022, AMD has finally released the third member of the family, the Radeon RX 7600. AMD has surprisingly priced it at just $269, undercutting Nvidia’s $299 GeForce RTX 4060. This makes it the first desktop GPU in the AMD’s 7000 lineup with a price below $300.
The 7600 is a cheaper version of 6650 XT
Based on the specs, the new 7600 GPU looks like a slightly cheaper version of the 6650 XT. AMD, on the other hand, is comparing it with RX 6600 RDNA 2 card.

Compared to the 6600, the new AMD Radeon RX 7600 GPU has more cores, higher clocks, and supports AV1 encoding. It is based on the Navi 33XL architecture and has the same Infinity Cache size as the RX 6600, but is of the newer generation. Likewise, AMD has confirmed that their RX 7600 cards will support DisplayPort 2.1. However, whether or not this support will be offered is up to board partners.
Gizchina News of the week
In terms of benchmarks, AMD claims that the RX 7600 will be an average of 29% faster than the RX 6600 in 1080p gaming at maximum settings. But we will have to wait for reviews to drop to see how much the actual performance gain is. The RX 7600 will officially be available for purchase from tomorrow (May 25, 2023).
RX 7600 over RTX 4060?
Clearly, the RX 7600 is a mid-range graphics card that is not designed for gamers who need an ultra-powerful system. It is more suited for people who are looking to build their first gaming PC and run less-demanding games. Even the RTX 4060 doesn’t provide you with exceptional performance.
But Nvidia has a few advantages over AMD, such as the newer DLSS 3 and likely superior ray tracing performance on the 4060. AMD may have realized this, so they cut the price of the 7600 at the last minute from $299 to $270, as stated by TheVerge. While the 7600 at $270 is not a clear winner, it is now more competitive with the 4060. Ultimately, the best graphics card for you will depend on your individual needs and preferences.
