iQOO recently introduced the iQOO Neo8 series, and now is preparing to launch a new iQOO Neo7 Pro variant. According to GSMArena, the new iQOO Neo 7 Pro, will be a rebadged iQOO Neo 7 Racing which is exclusive to the Chinese market. Global customers may now have access to the Chinese variant’s specifications due to the rebranding. Ahead of the launch, the iQOO Neo 7 Pro has been spotted by the Geekbench benchmark website.
iQOO Neo8 (Vivo I2217) details revealed by Geekbench
As usual, Geekbench reveals the key specifications of the handset. The upcoming iQOO Phone boasts the Vivo I2217 model number. Under the hood, it brings the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and 8 GB RAM. Yes, it uses the vanilla version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 which is rare to see among new launches nowadays.
The device scores 1,572 points on the single-core tests and a 4,400 score on the multi-core department. The phone also runs Android 13 OS which is hardly a surprise. It will likely come to global markets with Funtouch OS 13 running atop.
Worth noting that the iQOO Neo 7 series currently has a vanilla and a Neo7 Racing variant. Some considered the Racing variant as the “Pro” of the duo. However, iQOO is bringing the long-anticipated Pro variant to the market.
Gizchina News of the week
iQOO Neo 7 Pro possible specifications
As I’ve told above, the rumors are suggesting that the iQOO Neo 7 Pro will arrive as a global version of the iQOO Neo 7 Racing. Based on this, we can speculate on some of its specifications. It should come with a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with 2,400 x 1,080 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. That resolution will ensure a good view for users and the smooth refresh rate will allow them to enjoy content with a better feeling to the eyes. In terms of optics, it could bring the same setup with a 50 MP OIS camera, 8 MP ultrawide, and 2 MP macro shooter.
The phone comes with a 16 MP camera for selfies and video calls. Completing the package, we will likely see a 5,000 mAh battery with 120W charging to complete the package. As we’ve seen in the Geekbench, the phone runs Android 13 OS. Further, the listing confirms at least one variant with 8 GB of RAM.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 vs Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 – Which one is coming with the iQOO Neo 7 Pro?
Considering the Geekbench test, the main difference between the iQOO Neo7 Pro and the Racing edition could be the chipset. The variant on Geekbench seems to be running on the vanilla Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is composed of a 1 x ARM Cortex-X3 core at 3.0 GHz, 3 x ARM Cortex-A710 at up to 2.5 GHz, and 4 x ARM Cortex-A510 and 1.8 GHz. When it comes to the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, brings the Prime Cortex-X3 core to 3.2 GHz. But what is most significant is that the SD8+ Gen 1 comes from Samsung, whereas the SD8 Gen 1 is a Samsung-made chipset. The SD8+ Gen 1 has 10% extra performance, but the power efficiency is up by 30%.
We still need to see if the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 on the iQOO Neo 7 Pro will be confirmed. This could also be just a testing version, and the final device could come with the Plus version. Again, it’s hard to see new phones coming with the original Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. So, it’s better to digest this Geekbench ran with a grain of salt. According to 91Mobiles, the phone is expected for the end of June, so we expect more leaks to appear soon.
