Just a few weeks ago, the founder of Nothing, Carl Pei, confirmed that Nothing Phone (2) will go official in July. In addition, Pei stated that the phone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. And more recently, the CEO spilled the beans on some of the core components of the device.
But it seems that those were not the only pieces of information that Carl Pei wanted to share before the launch of the device. Through the company’s Twitter account, Pei shed light on some more details of the Nothing Phone (2). And after going through them, all I can say is that the device will indeed be very interesting!
Nothing Phone (2) To Come With A Bigger Screen and Long Android Update Support
So, the first highlight of the latest information coming straight from the company’s Twitter account is the screen. According to the official thread, the Nothing Phone (2) will come with a 6.7-inch screen. That means the new device will be 0.15 inches bigger than the predecessor.
Gizchina News of the week
While the brand did not offer any insight into the screen’s resolution, the Phone (2) will likely come with a FullHD+ panel. So, although the screen size will see an improvement, the resolution might be the same as the Nothing Phone (1).
In addition to that, the company has confirmed that the Nothing Phone (2) will get “3 years of Android updates.” It has also promised “4 years of security updates.” This is a major plus point as it ensures a better overall experience in the long run.
Other than that, the company’s official Twitter thread offers information about the environment-friendliness of Nothing Phone (2). Nothing said that the device has a carbon footprint of 53.45 kg. That’s 5 kg less than the Nothing Phone (1). The new device will also utilize 3x more bio-based or recycled parts than the predecessor. You can read the entire thread here.
