The new Redmi Note 12R joins its 12R Pro chip with competitive specifications and an affordable price tag. The phone also boasts a huge 5,000 mAh battery and a 50 MP main camera. Redmi Note 12R specifications and key features
The Redmi Note 12R has some similarities with the recently-announced Redmi 12, with the chipset being one of its most notable differences. The Note 12R packs a 6.79-inch IPS LCD screen with Full HD+ resolution and a 90 Hz refresh rate. The display has a tiny punch-hole at the top for the 5 MP front-facing camera. Turning to the rear, the phone offers a modest camera setup. It brings a 50-megapixel main camera with f/1.8 aperture and a 2-Megapixels macro module.

Qualcomm’s latest 5G chipset for low-end devices brings shrinks the manufacturing process to the cutting-edge 4nm standard. It uses the same 2+6 Core configuration as its predecessor. There are 2 x ARM Cortex-A78 cores clocked at up to 2.2 GHz and 6 x ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at up to 2 GHz. Once again, we have an unnumbered Adreno GPU for the graphics of this handset.
The Note 12R comes in variants with 4 GB, 6GB, or 8 GB of RAM. It has 128 GB or 256 GB of Internal Storage which is expandable via a micro SD card slot. The phone draws its power from a huge 5,000 mAh battery with 18W fast charging. It runs MIUI 14 based on Android 13.

The Redmi Note 12R sells in Midnight Black, Time Blue, and Sky Fantasy colors. The base variants sell at CNY 999 in China which means $140. You can get the phone in contract for just CNY 99 which may be a very attractive deal.
For now, there is no word from Xiaomi on a global release for the handset. However, we expect to see it reaching other countries in July.
