Earlier this month, Google released a video highlighting how many folks use services like Gmail, Maps, Search, Drive, Translate, Slides, Docs, Calendar, Photos, and Chrome. Then, the ad points out that you’re not using the “Google Pixel phone,” and they understand why.
The message in the ad is clear: “You just want to stick with a brand you know.” It emphasizes that the Pixel is the “Google Phone.” This messaging started last generation with the tagline “only phone engineered by Google.” Google is making a big deal out of the fact that this phone is closely tied to all the Google services you’re already familiar with.
