Realme GT5 Pro Leak Details Trio of Sony sensors

Realme GT5 Pro

Realme is gearing up to launch a new flagship in the smartphone market dubbed Realme GT5 Pro. The company is known for its mid-range smartphones with affordable prices, but has been working hard to establish its presence in the flagship category. The Realme GT5 Pro is coming soon to compete with flagship devices such as the Galaxy S23 and Xiaomi 13 series. So far, one of the lackluster aspects in Realme’s flagship lineup has been the camera department, but the brand will change that soon by further investing on powerful shooters for the Realme GT5 Pro. The latest leak coming from insider Digital Chat Station (Source) corroborates with this fact, the upcoming Realme GT5 Pro will employ three Sony cameras. The phone will also sport on a 1.5K resolution, which is a marketing term erroneously taken for 1220p panels.

Realme GT5 Pro – Camera Details Tipped

Talking about the three Sony sensors, we will see an IMX966 behind the main camera. It will be a 1/1.4″ sensor, but will perform on the same level as the 1″ IMX989 thanks to its stacked structure. The secondary snapper is an ultrawide module that uses Sony’s 48 MP IMX581 shooter. The final Sony sensor is a 50 MP IMX890 for telephoto photography.

Gizchina News of the week

It is worth noting that this is not the first report about a Sony IMX966 sensor. The same sensor is expected for the upcoming OnePlus 12. Whether a coincidence or not, OnePlus’ flagship will also boast a 48 MP IMX581 ultrawide camera. Instead of a telephoto sensor will employ a 64 MP OmniVision periscope camera. These similarities between OnePlus 12 and Realme GT5 Pro are not exactly a big surprise. The two brands operate under the BBK Electronics group. They have strong ties with Oppo, so it’s common for them to share technology and features.

Remaining Specifications and Highlights

If you’re curious to know about the remaining specs in the Realme GT 5 Pro we can also share some details. Under the hood, the Realme GT5 Pro will be powered by the all-new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Meaning it will be more powerful than flagship devices with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The phone will also pack a 6.82-inch OLED display from BOE with curved edges, 1.5K resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The handset will come with up to 24 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The phone will draw its powers from a 5,400 mAh battery with 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. In the software front, the Realme GT5 Pro will run Android 14 with Realme UI 5.

The Realme GT5 Pro will cost about $550 for the base variant. It will reach China soon, and should be an interesting option over smartphones packed with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in the same pricing range. The device will join the Realme GT5 which has been available since August.
