Now, customers from all around the world with subscriptions have started to receive mail. According to it, the monthly fee of YouTube Premium is about to increase. As of November 1, the subscription is getting a price hike in Austria, Chile, Australia, Argentina, Germany, Turkey, and Poland.

What About New YouTube Premium Users?

While the platform has sent out mail to the existing YouTube Premium users, the new users will immediately see the hiked price. Existing customers will get “at least three extra months” before seeing the increased price in their bills. According to the mail, this decision wasn’t made lightly.

But why does YouTube need to increase the subscription of its Premium tier? As per the email, the price increase will “continue to improve Premium and support the creators and artists” of the platform.

YouTube Premium Features

For those wondering, YouTube Premium is not all about having an ad-free content-viewing experience. In addition, it offers audio-only playback mode, background playback, and an offline download option. It also offers a 1080p option that delivers improved bitrate. This enhanced bitrate option has less compression, which results in better visuals. So, you do get a lot for the money. You can learn more about these features from the official website.

That said, it’s true that YouTube is always improving its Premium tier. And this price increase could bring more convenient features to the subscription plan. Hopefully, we will see them rolling out soon.
