Apple is required to send various prototypes to the FCC ahead of the official launch. With the recent release of the Watch Ultra 2, the release of another model could be far away. This could be an early prototype for the future Apple Watch Ultra model that Apple has sent to the FCC. For now, it’s important to digest the images with a pinch of salt. After all, the final product could be different from this early prototype.
Ming Chi-Kuo States that the Apple Watch 3 Could Arrive Only in 2024
Also, according to Apple’s renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the Apple Watch 3 could not be launched in 2024. According to him, if Apple does not begin the development of the Apple Watch Ultra 3 until December, the company is likely to not launch a new edition in the next year. One possible reason for this “delay”, according to the expert, would be the time Apple needs to develop innovative health features and ensure the manufacturing of the watch. The company would also need to deal with some issues involving the micro-LED tech. According to him, this display tech will be ready for smartwatches only in 2025.
Apple Watch Ultra 2 – The Latest Innovation in this Lineup
While Apple moves in the background to upgrade its smartwatch series, the spotlight is set to the Apple Watch Ultra 2. The premium smartwatch was introduced in September and brings a series of upgrades when compared to the first generation. The main selling points are the IP6X certification, 100m water resistance, and 40mm swim-proof/diving resistance. The wearable is MIL-STD 810H certification and ECG certified. It boasts a Retina LTPO OLED with 1.92 inches and 502 x 410 pixels of resolution.
The panel is covered with Sapphire Crystal Glass For extra protection. It runs watchOS 10 and boasts the Apple S9 processor. The device has 64 GB of Storage, Dual Speakers, and a large 564 mAh battery which is a great capacity for the standards in the smartwatch market. Apple will need to surpass these specifications in a future Apple Watch Ultra 3. We expect more details to surface and, perhaps, new prototypes to get FCC certification in the coming months.
