Realme, a prominent player in the smartphone market, is gearing up to introduce its latest mid-range smartphones in India, namely the Realme 12 Pro and Realme 12 Pro+. Anticipation surrounding the launch has been heightened by teasers shared by the brand, with the unveiling expected later this month.

Spanish YouTuber Isa Marcial recently offered an exclusive first look at the Realme 12 Pro+, shedding light on its design and key specifications. The company, itself, has contributed to the excitement by confirming the camera specifications through a teaser on X (formerly Twitter). Industry reports suggest that the new series will launch on January 31.

Realme 12 Pro+: 50MP Primary Camera and a 64MP Periscope Telephoto Lens

The Realme 12 Pro+ is set to make a visual statement with its Submarine Blue and Navigator Beige color options. The device showcases a sleek layout, featuring power and volume controls on the right side. A distinctive circular camera arrangement, complemented by a golden strip running vertically from top to bottom, enhances the aesthetics on the rear.

Continuing its commitment to quality displays, Realme maintains a curved AMOLED screen for the upcoming smartphones. The Realme 12 Pro+ stands out with a centred punch hole cutout for the selfie camera. It’s housed within a 6.7-inch curved AMOLED display. TENAA certification has revealed a Full HD+ resolution for the curved AMOLED screen.

Also, under the hood, the Realme 12 Pro+ is running the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC, built on a 4nm process. The chipset boasts two Cortex A78 cores at 2.4GHz, six Cortex A55 cores at 1.95GHz, and an Adreno 710 GPU. The device will offer up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

Additionally, a significant revelation from the first impression video is the inclusion of Realme UI 5.0, based on Android 14, straight out of the box. If accurate, this would mark the smartphone as the first device to debut with Realme UI 5.0 in India. Additionally, the smartphone has a robust 5000mAh battery to support its advanced features.

Also, photography enthusiasts can look forward to the Realme 12 Pro+’s triple rear camera setup. This includes a 50MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 64MP periscope telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom. Realme has confirmed the integration of a 50MP Sony IMX 890 sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). Further enhancing the device’s photography capabilities. With a focal length of 24mm, the primary sensor comes with an 8MP ultrawide lens for macro photography. The inclusion of the 64MP OmniVision OV64B periscope telephoto sensor adds versatility to the device’s photography prowess. As the launch date approaches, enthusiasts eagerly await the official unveiling of the 12 Pro+ and the exciting features it promises to bring to the mid-range smartphone segment.
