Earlier this week, a set of Google Pixel 9 Pro renders emerged, and now it’s time for the vanilla variant to have the same treatment. Thanks to the trustworthy @OnLeaks in collaboration with 91Mobiles, the basic Google Pixel 9’s design is now available. The image shows a flat frame and back similar to the Pixel 9 Pro. After three generations with a similar design language, the upcoming Pixel 9 series will bring significant changes, especially to the camera island.
Google Pixel 9 – Design and Key Specs Surface
The Google Pixel 9 render shows a triple-camera setup, including a telephoto camera module. This is a first for a non-Pro Pixel smartphone and means a serious upgrade for the basic variant. The smartphone comes with a 6.1-inch screen. It will also feature a Full HD+ AMOLED screen to keep the price lower than the Pro model with its QHD+ panel. The smartphone will measure 152.8 x 71.9 x 8.5~12.00mm. With such dimensions, the smartphone is bigger but thinner than the Google Pixel 8. It is worth noting that the Pixel 8 had a slightly larger 6.2-inch screen.

Interestingly, we can see how the protruding camera makes a difference here. Without the camera bump, the device measures 8.5mm and with it into account, it rises to 12.00mm. When it comes to the remaining design, the phone has the same button placement as its predecessor. The SIM slot, however, has been moved from the left side to the bottom. The antenna bands have a metal frame.
Under the hood, the smartphone will bring the new Google Tensor G4 chipset with the “Redondo” codename. It will be also present on the upcoming Google Pixel 9 Pro. Other specifications of this smartphone have not been revealed yet. However, we expect more details to emerge in the coming months. The phone’s launch is expected only in October. So there are still many months ahead, and we will certainly get more details ahead of the release.
