Samsung unrolled the curtains of the Galaxy S24 series just a week ago. After the official unveiling, the company started to take pre-orders, which will all start to ship starting from January 31st. On the note of pre-orders, the lineup has just hit an all-time pre-sale record for the Galaxy S series in South Korea.
To be exact, pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S24 reached 1.21 million within a week after the official unveiling. In comparison, the Galaxy S23 lineup pre-orders went up to 1.09 million within the same time frame.
Samsung Galaxy S24 Series Also Broke the Daily Average Sales Record
It’s not just the overall count for which the Samsung Galaxy S24 lineup broke records. The lineup has also broken the record for daily average sales. Specifically, smartphones had a daily average sale of 173 thousand units during the pre-order period.
Of course, not all the phones in the lineup had equal pre-order count. The high-end Galaxy S24 Ultra accounted for 60% of the entire pre-order units. Next is the S24 Plus, which has 21% of all the devices sold in this pre-sale phase. The standard S24 accounted for 19% of sales.
Gizchina News of the week
Taking a closer look into the sales, it’s the new Titanium Gray colorway of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra that sold the most. For the standard S24 and S24 Plus, the Marble Gray color options hold the highest sales.
If the Galaxy S lineup isn’t considered, it’s the Galaxy Note 10 range that holds the highest pre-order record. That lineup grossed a total of 1.3 million units during the pre-order phase. However, the pre-sale phase for the Note 10 lineup lasted for 11 days, and the numbers for the Samsung Galaxy S24 are from a 7-day period. It should also be noted that the Note 10 had lower average daily sales, at 125 thousand units.
