There have been a couple of reports about a new Redmi device with the back design resembling the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. We’ve also seen hands-on photos of the device’s surface in the last two days. Well, today, the company has officially unrolled the curtains on the design. It’s called the Xiaomi Redmi A3, and it’s an entry-level device.
The smartphone will be released on the Indian market on February 14, which is next Wednesday. So far, we know most of the highlighted features of the Redmi A3, except for the price. Xiaomi hasn’t shared information on the availability in other markets as well.
Xiaomi Redmi A3 – First Details Revealed
The device is not available yet, Redmi will reveal it on February 14. Therefore, there are no deeper details available about this smartphone. Thankfully, Redmi decided to share some of its key features through a series of new teasers. These include a 90 Hz refresh rate screen, a 5000 mAh battery with a USB Type-C port, and 6 GB of RAM. In this article, you will learn more about Redmi A3’s screen, design, RAM and Battery Specs. Other details are not available yet.
On the front, the Xiaomi Redmi A3 will come with a 6.71-inch screen. Xiaomi says that it offers a “butter smooth” 90 Hz refresh rate, which is a bit too exaggerated here. Yes, 90 Hz is smoother than a standard 60 Hz screen, but we already have 120 Hz and even higher screens on smartphones these days.
But again, you can’t blame Xiaomi for putting a 90 Hz screen on the Redmi A3. After all, the A series is meant to offer low-cost devices, so the 90 Hz is fine for the price.

6 GB RAM – An Interesting Addition for a Low-end Smartphone
Moving on, the Xiaomi Redmi A3 comes with up to 6 GB of RAM. To compare, the Redmi A2+ topped out at 4 GB of RAM, meaning that the new low-cost phone is offering an upgrade in this regard. As for the battery, the phone packs a 5000 mAh battery, which now charges via USB-C. This is another upgrade, as the A2 and A2+ had the dated micro-USB port.
Going back to the 6 GB of RAM, it’s really a nice move from Redmi. A few years ago, budget phones were known for bringing only 2 GB of RAM. This has been changing in recent years, and now, we are seeing the inclusion of 6 GB of RAM on a low-end smartphone. We believe the phone will come with a modest processor, after all, it’s a low-end smartphone. However, the 6 GB RAM will greatly improve the experience in multi-tasking. It will allow you to use multiple ads without having sudden reloads in the background.
The Redmi A3 comes with “Halo Design”
Another interesting thing about the Redmi A3 is the design. Xiaomi calls it “All-new Premium Halo Design,” and the company isn’t wrong. As the image attached below shows, the massive circular camera island on the back does resemble the premium Xiaomi 13 Ultra. Other info on the phone has yet to be announced. However, the launch is very near, so you don’t need to wait long to learn all about the device.
The new Redmi A3 will be an interesting new device for the low-end segment. It will compete with the likes of Samsung Galaxy A0-series and the recently released Realme Note 50. We expect the brand to reveal more details in the coming days. The addition of 6 GB of RAM is a nice improvement for smartphones in this field. We are still curious to see which kind of processor will come with this smartphone. Hopefully, Redmi will share more details ahead of the release.
