A Sneak Peek at the Possible Samsung Foldable and Rollable Smartphone

Samsung is known for pushing the limits of smartphone displays. After all, it’s one of the major smartphone screen manufacturers and suppliers and is more prominent than LG Display and BOE. Even though Samsung wasn’t the first to showcase a foldable smartphone, it’s definitely the one that has popularized it. Now, the company is likely getting ready to showcase a rollable smartphone.

At least, that’s what a recently surfaced patent suggests. The patent was uncovered on February 13th, which is just two days ago. This patent has diagrams of a possible Samsung foldable and rollable smartphone. However, the diagrams are in the form of patent drawings, meaning that they lack the depth of proper smartphone renders.

The good news is that CalibreCleaning and @xleaks7 have partnered to bring the patent drawings to life. This partnership has produced proper renders of the rollable smartphone Samsung described in the patent. Note that they do not depict any actual upcoming product, as Samsung hasn’t formally announced anything other than patenting the phone. Instead, the renders are solely based on the illustrations found in the patent.

A Closer Look at the Samsung Rollable Smartphone Renders Based on the Patent

CalibreCleaning and @xleaks7 have done a good job bringing the Samsung rollable smartphone patent to life. Just like the Samsung patent shows, the renders show that the smartphone has a second body. It’s connected with a hinge, and there’s a support plate with a rollable display panel on the render too.

As you may have guessed, what really makes this render stand out from the existing foldable phones is the secondary body. As the renders show, this patented design will enable Samsung to offer a much larger screen in a phone that can easily fit in the pocket. You can learn more from the pictures attached.

Again, it is important to note that the renders are not of an actual upcoming product. A lot of patents don’t see real-life implementations, and these renders of the rollable smartphone may not even be close to the actual product if Samsung launches it.
