Oppo Watch X launching on February 29

Oppo Watch X

Oppo is gearing up to introduce its next flagship smartwatch. The Oppo Watch X will be the company’s next wearable running Google’s WearOS. Today, the company confirmed that the new watch will make its debut on February 29 in Malaysia. The Watch X is nearly identical to the recently teased OnePlus Watch 2. However, OnePlus’ watch will launch three days earlier on February 26.

Oppo Watch X is Coming Soon to Malaysia

The Oppo Watch X features the same design as the OnePlus Watch 2. So it could end up being a rebadged smartwatch for distinct markets where the OnePlus Watch 2 won’t be launched. Therefore, the Oppo Watch X should come with the same specifications. The smartwatch will feature a 1.43-inch OLED screen with 466 x 466 pixels of resolution. Under the hood, the device boasts the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chip and the Google Wear OS 4. The Oppo Watch X will come in Platinum Black and Mars Brown color options.

The Watch X also passed the MIIT and 3C Certifications with an OWW231 model number. Thanks to these listings, we know it will come with 4G LTE connectivity via eSIM. It will also offer support for 10W charging, which is more than adequate for its 500 mAh battery. The wearable will run Wear OS 4 and will come with a wide array of features for health monitoring and sports tracking. Just like the OnePlus Watch 2 it should come with GPS for accurate navigation.

The Watch X comes with a circular screen with a metallic chassis that extends to the physical buttons. Right now, Oppo has only divulged a few images via its Malaysia handle. There is no mention of global variants or even European versions.

With just a few days remaining until the Watch X release we expect Oppo to keep sharing details to build the hype for the new wearable.
