Leaked iPhone 16 Case Suggests Revival of ‘iPhone X’ Design

For a long time, we have been seeing the square module on the rear of iPhones. It has become an iconic look, and Apple has not changed this design language for years now. However, they still tweak a little, for example, the arrangement of camera sensors on the vanilla models. But the boxy square module is still there. Now, with this year’s iPhone lineup, we can anticipate some changes. The latest leak even suggests that we may say farewell to the square module. Let’s check out the leak below.

The latest leak comes from a user on X. The leak reveals the cases of the unreleased iPhone 16 vanilla models. Like last year, we expect to get two models: the iPhone 16 and the iPhone 16 Plus. The leak reveals the cover cases of both devices. At first glance, I was unable to digest the new camera module design. It instantly gives me iPhone X vibes. The sight of a bigger pill-shaped camera module on the iPhone was a bit unusual.

Gizchina News of the week

Back in the days of the iPhone X, the camera shooters were still small. However, now even the standard iPhone has big cameras, and it will look unsuitable on the pill-shaped notch. Just imagine, the iPhone X but with a bigger pill-shaped notch and larger camera sensors. It may not give any premium feel at all, as in 2024, this design will give the vibes of an entry-level Android smartphone.

What prompted Apple to adopt this new design language?

iPhone 16 Design

Most of you must be wondering the reason behind this drastic change. Well, the first reason is that Apple needs a vertical camera alignment to support spatial video recording. Moreover, there is also a need for change in design to create some hype in the market as the fans must be tired of seeing the same design every year.

That said, the Apple iPhone 16 and 16 Plus are also rumored to feature the Action Button along with a pressure-sensitive Capture Button that may be introduced this year. Hopefully, Apple does not disappoint the fans with a mediocre design and brings something spicier this year.
