POCO is gearing up to introduce a new smartphone dubbed POCO M6 Plus soon. The latest smartphone will arrive many months after the first in the series, the POCO M6 Pro 5G, which launched in August last year. The POCO M6 and POCO M6 Pro 4G have joined the lineup, and now it’s time for the Plus variant to mark its presence here. The Plus model received BIS certification in India, which hints at an imminent release. Interestingly, the POCO M6 Plus will come as a rebadged Redmi Note 13R, a device that went official in China recently.
POCO M6 Plus Specifications and Key Details
We don’t know yet if Xiaomi has plans to make the Redmi Note 13R available in international markets. However, while this does not happen, we will see the same stations under the POCO M6 Plus moniker. That means the device will be a budget smartphone with the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ SoC.
Gizchina News of the week
The POCO M6 Plus will feature a 6.74-inch 1,600 x 720 pixels display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 600nits of brightness. The Dimensity 6100+ will be joined by 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of expandable storage. The device will also bring a 50 MP main camera, a 5 MP selfie shooter, and a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 18W wired charging.
Judging by the specifications, the M6 Plus will have the same processor, same screen size, refresh rate, same cameras, and the same battery and charging speed. There are so many similarities here that it’s hard to spot what makes this a Plus variant. Perhaps, we wily see some surprises, like a larger battery to justify the Plus name. Of course, this is mere speculation at this point. We expect POCO to share more details soon.
Considering the device’s appearance on India BIS, we won’t discard a possible launch in June. Therefore, we expect some official words from Xiaomi soon.
