Gizchina News of the week

Samsung has officially rolled out One UI 6.1.1, starting with the Galaxy S24 series and then extending to older flagship models like the Galaxy S23 series, Tab S9 series, and Z Fold5 / Flip5. As a South Korean company, it’s no surprise that Samsung prioritizes its home market, releasing updates there first. However, users in other regions are now gaining access to One UI 6.1.1, following the initial launch in Korea.

An Incremental Update While One UI 7 Continues Development

The One UI 6.1.1 update is between 2.5GB and 3GB in size, depending on the device. Many users can access this update now, but the big excitement is for One UI 7. Samsung will likely reveal One UI 7 at the next developer conference, and they might announce a beta version too. One UI 7 will run on Android 15, Google’s latest system, which includes major improvements and new features. We’ll keep you updated on the latest news about this update.

Leakster Ice Universe (@UniverseIce) says that TM Roh, who leads Samsung’s Mobile Experience (MX) division, is closely overseeing One UI 7.0’s development. Roh’s hands-on approach suggests Samsung might soon improve the software quality of its Galaxy devices.

Reports also mention that One UI 7.0 will offer smoother animations and transitions, enhancing the overall experience. Samsung has postponed the beta release of One UI 7.0 to fix bugs and ensure stable performance, showing their commitment to a high-quality update.
