Motorola Android 15 Update List – See Eligible Devices

Motorola is known for being slower with software updates compared to other manufacturers. Also, it is not among the best when it comes to long-term software support with some of its devices getting just one major Android update. This is slightly shocking considering that the company offers an Android skin that is very close to vanilla. Despite the shortcomings of its Android experience, the brand is still committed to offering the latest for its most recent smartphones. To keep things crystal clear, Motorola shared the complete list of smartphones that will receive the Android 15 update.

Motorola Android 15 Update List

The list of Motorola phones eligible for the Android 15 update includes several devices across the Edge, Moto G, Razr, and ThinkPhone series. Unfortunately, there is no actual timeline for these updates to roll out. These devices are confirmed to get the update, but when is a question that remains. We expect the latest flagships to be the first. The mid-range and low-end smartphones will certainly get the update later.

Android 15

Unfortunately, many devices are absent. The entire Moto G 2023 lineup is out of this update as well as the Motorola Edge 2023, and any Moto G 2022 models. One of the most surprising exclusions is the Moto G Play 2024. It’s a budget phone that launched in January with Android 13 and just received Android 14. Apparently, it won’t receive Android 15. As we’ve said before, the company is not changing anything when it comes to the duration of its software support.

Changes will come only in the future. For example, the recently launched Edge 50 Neo, promises five major OS updates and five years of security patches. It’s a move that comes as a direct response to the competitors. The weak points remain in the budget-friendly Moto G line, typically receiving only one major update. This lags behind competitors like Samsung, which offers extensive support for even its budget models, such as the Galaxy A16, which is guaranteed six years of OS and security updates. The company will have to follow suit to keep up with the growing industry standards, but as far as Android 15 is concerned, there is no change in the current policies.
