Redmi K80 may look very similar to another Xiaomi phone

The Redmi K80 is generating excitement as Xiaomi prepares to launch its latest smartphone series. Rumors indicate a fresh look, with the K80 lineup adopting a new rear design. Speaking of which, well-known tipster Smart Pikachu shared some insights on the design. The tipster has offered a closer glimpse into the anticipated device.

A Closer Look at the Leaked Picture

The design of the Redmi K80 series appears to be taking a bold new direction. Notably, the leaked picture shows a round camera island with a triple-lens setup. This would be a significant shift from the rectangular, left-aligned camera module seen in the Redmi K70 lineup. Worth noting that this refreshed design draws inspiration from Xiaomi’s selfie-focused Civi series. That lineup also brings phones with circular camera layouts.

The K80’s camera module isn’t just about aesthetics. It also hints at an evolved camera experience. The lineup will reportedly consist of three models: the Redmi K80e, Redmi K80, and K80 Pro. Each of them is reported to offer distinct hardware.

As for the specs, the base model, Redmi K80e, is expected to feature a MediaTek Dimensity 8400 chipset. It will reportedly have support for 90W fast charging. Meanwhile, the standard K80 and K80 Pro may pack Qualcomm’s powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Snapdragon 8 Elite, respectively. They will likely offer 120W fast charging, promising efficient performance and rapid power-ups.

When will the Redmi K80 Series Launch?

The anticipated release date for the Redmi K80 series is by the end of November. While Xiaomi draws inspiration from the Civi lineup, it appears committed to keeping both series alive. A new Civi model is already rumored to be in the works, and it will reportedly offer much better specs than the predecessor. The choice to evolve the K80 design while maintaining the Civi brand underscores Xiaomi’s strategy of appealing to different user segments.
