Redmi A4 5G Launches on November 20


Xiaomi introduced the Redmi A4 5G in India over a month ago, positioning it as one of the country’s most budget-friendly 5G smartphones. The device cost INR 8,499 (around $100) with discounts, however, it is yet to go on open sale. However, Xiaomi has now confirmed that the wait will be over on November 20. The launch date of November 20 for the Redmi A4 5G may or may not align with its open sale, so that remains to be confirmed.

Xiaomi stated that the Redmi A4 5G is set to transform the entry-level smartphone market in India by making 5G connectivity accessible to millions. This affordable device aims to provide a better user experience while introducing faster internet speeds to budget-conscious buyers.

The Redmi A4 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chipset, built on the same 4nm process as the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2. This chip supports displays with up to 90fps at FHD+ resolution, enhancing smoothness for gaming and video playback. It also includes dual 12-bit ISP camera support, which improves photo and video quality. Additionally, the powerful modem ensures Gigabit 5G connectivity for faster downloads and uploads. The Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 also supports Dual-frequency GNSS (L1 + L5), including India’s NAVIC system, for better navigation accuracy. It is worth noting that the A4 5G will be India’s first Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 smartphone.

Redmi A4 5G

The Redmi A4 5G also boasts a huge 5,160 mAh battery with 18W charging. It will sell in two variants with either 64 GB or 128 GB of Storage. The RAM will be 4 GB regardless of the storage option. The smartphone also has a 50 MP rear camera and an 8 MP selfie shooter. The phone has a 6.88-inch LCD screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate.

Unfortunately, other details are yet to be disclosed by Xiaomi. The device was demoed during the India Mobile Congress 2024, and not all details were disclosed back then. The phone has a circular camera island following current trends in the category. The display has a waterdrop notch for the selfie camera and we believe it has a 90 Hz refresh rate.
