Nothing OS 3.0 Stable Update is Rolling out for Nothing Phone (2) and (2a)

Nothing began beta testing its Nothing OS 3.0 update, based on Android 15, in October. Now, after months of testing, the company has officially started rolling out the stable version of the update.

Nothing Phone (2) Gets Closer to Stable Android 15 with Nothing OS 3.0

The update is being released gradually to the Nothing Phone (2) and Nothing Phone (2a). This staged rollout means some users may need to wait several days before they receive it. According to Nothing, the process might extend until the end of the year before every device is updated. If you own one of these smartphones and haven’t received the update notification yet, you can manually check by going to Settings > System Update and verifying if the latest version is available.

Nothing OS 3.0 has lots of new features, starting with the new Nothing Gallery app. This app makes it easier to find photos with better search options. It also adds simple tools to edit pictures, like filters, markup, and smart suggestions to help you improve your photos quickly.

The lock screen has a fresh new look and can be fully customized. You can add Shared Widgets to stay connected with friends and family right from the lock screen. There’s also a new Countdown Widget to keep track of important events. The Smart Drawer, powered by AI, organizes your apps into folders automatically so they’re easier to find.

Other updates include better Quick Settings for faster controls, an improved Pop-up View for multitasking, and new fonts across the system that look cleaner and easier to read. There are also visual and performance improvements, but Nothing hasn’t explained all the details yet.

The update will come to more devices soon. The Nothing Phone (1), Nothing Phone (2a) Plus, and CMF Phone 1 will get it in early 2025. We expect to see these devices getting the update in the coming weeks. So stay tuned.
