top 10 dual sim phones

Dual sim phones are part of why many of you are checking out the latest device from China. Again to help you narrow down your selection we have put together this list of 10 quad-core MT6582 dual sim phones on sale now.

Mediatek launched their quad-core MT6582 chipset late last year as a powerful, but low-cost processor for mid-range phones. Chinese phone manufacturers were quick to use the new SoC in some great dual sim phones at affordable prices and with great hardware.

Top 10 Quad-core MT6582 Dual SIM Phones on sale now

The criteria for this list of top dual sim phones is simple;

  • Must be on sale internationally now.
  • Must have dual SIM.
  • Must use the quad-core MT6582 processor.

Now without further a do let’s begin!

Doogee Turbo DG2014

doogee turbo dg2014

The Doogee Turbo DG2014 is one of the top dual SIM phones on sale at the moment. The phone comes in a range of bright colours (yellow, red, blue, black, white), boasts a 6.3mm body, and is on sale for $169.99 (less if you shop around).

Hardware is similar to the popular iNew V3 and includes a 5-inch 1280 x 720 OGS display, 1GB RAM, 8GB memory, dual SIM (GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz WCDMA 850/2100MHz), and micro SD card expansion for up to 32GB cards.

iOcean X7HD

iOcean X7 white

iOcean recycled their flagship X7 and replaced the display with a 720p unit, and the processor with the 1.3Ghz MT6582 chipset thus creating the iOcean X7HD! Anyone familiar with the original iOcean X7 will recognise the HD version which appears simllar to the Oppo Find 5. Reusing last’s years design not only helps keep costs down but also ensures a great number of accessories are available for this dual SIM phone (GSM 850/900/1800/1900mhz, WCDMA 900/2100mhz).

The iOcean X7 HD is priced at $154.99 and is on sale now!

Lenovo A880

lenovo a880

Although MT6582 dual SIM phones are usually made for mid range phone shoppers it doesn’t mean you are limited in choice or for that matter display size. The Lenovo A880 for example packs a MT6582M processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB memory and Android 4.2 but has a phablet size 6-inch display.

Dual SIM support covers both GSM and WCDMA frequencies (2G:GSM 900/1800/1900MHz, 3G:WCDMA 900/2100MHz), while an SD card slot means you can easily increase the memory. The Lenovo A880 dual SIM phones is on sale for $169.99.

Again GSM and WCDMA is covered on the Elephone (2G: GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz, 3G: WCDMA 850/2100MHz), and if you wanted something a little larger then there is also the Elephone P7 with 5.5-inch display.

UMi X1 Pro

So I am guessing that 850/2100 is good for North America

    900/2100 is good for europe?

Are there any models that will work for both Europe and NA, South America
    on 3g?

    • Luke
      February 20, 2014

850/2100Mhz US and 900/2100Mhz Europe is more or less correct.

For Europe, it depends on what country/what network provider you use for 3G. Some countries 2100Mhz is sufficient (i.e. all network providers in the Netherlands support 2100Mhz). Having support for 900Mhz would probably improve overall reception. Again, check per countries and per network provider what frequency band is used for 3G.

I don’t see any phones that support 850 and 900 Mhz for 3G. I don’t think that there are any MTK6852 phones that do… Correct me if I’m wrong.

About 3G network Frequency, in US, it usually supports 900/1900Mhz, in Europe like Spain and Italy, it supports 850/2100mhz, this zopo zp990+ is a good choice for US Customers,it supports WCDMA 900/1900/2100MHz!

If you’re going to use AT&T’s network in a city like NY, 850Mhz support would be nice:
          http://www.engadget.com/2010/06/28/atandt-says-new-york-850mhz-3g-upgrade-is-complete-voice-quality/
Again, checkout the frequency band support for the particular carrier in the particular region/country and then decide which frequencies are a must have and which are a nice to have.

        • Tux
          February 21, 2014

In the US you need to have 850 instead of 900MHz and for using T-Mobile support for the AWS band 4 (1700+2100MHz -one is the uplink, the other the downlink).
Unless these phones do support 5-band UMTS/HSPA/WCDMA, just the way they support 4-band GSM, they aren’t international, worldwide useable phones. Period!

Andy as you are in China, you can tell what these companies do to show picture of the product so attractive. Awaiting your reply..

hey guys, just want y’all 2 know that in indonesia there’s a very cheap mt6582 phone which is evercoss a66b.

packs the same quad 1,3ghz ; 1gb ram ; 8 mp & 2 mp camera ; dual sim ; qHD 4,7″ hard glass ; metal bezel ; antutu score at 20107 ; and a flipcase as bonus. the only felted downside is the battery thats only 1700 mAH. but i could’nt complain coz the price is only 1.190.000 IDR or about a little less than 100 USD.
