We have the fantastic little JiaYu G2F at the GizChina offices! Take a look at the first ever hands on with this amazing low-cost dual sim smartphone from China.
The JiaYu G2F was announced earlier this year as s TD-SCDMA only 3G phone for China Mobile customers, but JiaYu have promised a WCDMA version of the phone will be available soon for international customers.
The G2F is priced at just 499 Yuan in China, which is just under $80. Specifications include a quad-core 1.3Ghz MT6582 chipset, 1GB RAM, good for around 17,000 points on Antutu, 4GB internal memory, 4.3inch IPS 1280 x 720 display, 2 mega-pixel front camera and 8 mega-pixel rear.
The little G2F also support dual SIM, micro SD cards of up to 64GB and packs an impressive (for it’s size) 2200mAh battery.
Video: JiaYu G2F Unboxing and hands on
As you can see in the video, the JiaYu G2F closely resembles the Xiaomi Mi2 in design, and I have to say the build quality is easily on par! Amazing considering the impressive price JiaYu have managed to create the F2F for!
Not only is the design and build way above average for a phone at this price, but the display is a pleasant surprise too! Offering great viewing angles and impressive touch response.
Gizchina News of the week
We also enjoy the custom ROM which JiaYu have installed on the JiaYu F1. Based on Android version Android 4.2.2, YunOs is a popular MIUI inspired 3rd party ROM which is making its way on to a number of Chinese smartphones recently. YunOS is primarily targeted at Chinese consumers with some great cloud based features, but also has English too making it perfectly usable elsewhere.

JiaYu G2F first impressions
It is extremely hard not to like the JiaYu G2F. It is a plucky little phone with design, specification and attention to detail which we have never seen at a price like this before. The design is perfect for most users, hardware is well though out and offers great performance, the battery is much larger than phones double it’s price and specification (iNew V3 for example) and YunOs is a very pleasant surprise!
We know that once the Jiayu G2F goes on sale internationally prices will be nearer $90-100 ,but even then it would be well worth getting! It really does feel like a great little phone which will easily last!
The full JiaYu G2F review is in the words so keep posted for updates!
This looks like a very interesting phone!
Finally a smaller size phone :)!
It’s appears to be identical to the Jiayu G2s on the outside, is that correct? I’ve had the Jiayu G2s and quite liked it (form factor wise), so i hope this G2F is similar 😀
Dimensions are same, but G2f has bigger screen 4,3″ than G2s 4″.
Oh my gosh: This is unbelievable!
Hey Andi,
Do you have any information about Vanilla Android being available for this phone?
I’m planning to get this as a backup phone (WCDMA version) but I’d love to have Vanilla Android on it.
Thanks!
Nope I don’t at this momen but if I hear anything I’ll be sure to post it.
its not 50$ its 80$ on official website.
Jesus $80!!! this is actual madness, might just buy one out of curiosity. Only thing is i’m seeing international sites charging as much as $150
$80!!! That’s crazy price! I saw the same phone on http://www.prcfrog.com and the price is $170. I think they are going to cut customers into pieces!
The OS is actually a copy of Lewa OS/LeFrog OS, rather than Miui. Or maybe it is LewaOS but under a different name.
Everything looks exactly like Lewa.. it’s probably the same.
Andi, please, this Smartphone has MHL or HDMI? Thanks a lot i advance!
WCDMA version when released?
Waiting for confirmation from JiaYu.
i loved
hello, the camera is good?
I did not try it yet. Please keep an eye out for the full review soon.
Andi, please, this Smartphone has MHL or HDMI? Thanks a lot i advance!
omg, i waited 6 months for this phone. it was first priced at 1949deal for 77 dollars, but now is 128 dollar.
i thought okay forget it and yesterday i bought the Ulefone U692
at pandawill for 237.
well maybe later i buy this little one, cause the 6.5 inch will be too big to bring outside the house
damn
Andi, was the black back cover matte?
Yep, a matt finish. Great little phone this!
Oh yeah, all smiles, especially now i know the G4 isn’t getting the octacore treatment. It’s now Coolpad F1 or this, whichever gets WCDMA first.
Once Jiayu releases the WCDMA version, then it’s an instant buy. Nice design, nice specs, nice price. Well, not with resellers though, they charge 128 dollar instead of 80 dollars. Still, need to lookout at Taobao I suppose!
For the love of God, PLEASE, is there anyone here who could help me? This is extremelly important to me: Find a decent sp, with a decent price, that have dual sim and mhl (or hdmi), and quite frankly, after 3 years of search, i’m about to give up: This SP has MHL or mini-HDMI? Can I connect it on a HDTV, and watch things… bigger? Thanks a lot in advance
