Meizu’s heavily forked version of Android, Flyme 3.0 was heavily praised for its simplicity and unique design. Meizu seems to be moving further down that line as concept images of Flyme 4.0, released on Flyme’s official Weibo account, seem to indicate that the OS will be getting even simpler in its next iteration.
The same account that posted the images promises that Flyme 4.0 will support Android 4.4 (Kit Kat) and that more images would be coming until Sunday. Here is what has been released so far.
Soon after, a Weibo user posted an image comparing the Flyme 4.0 concept images to Flyme 3.0
Gizchina News of the week
In an online poll of if users approve of the still unfinished design, approve is winning 704 to 94 at press time.
There is no telling when Flyme 4.0 will be released. As the poster is quick to point out, these are only concept images after all. Still, considering the positive response, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the next iteration of Flyme look similar to this.
Meanwhile, Meizu the company has some things going on. The French version of its Facebook page has started a contest that will be giving away units of its recently released MX3.
What do you think of Flyme 4.0’s proposed design?
Meizu has always had the best design on their UI. I really love what they are doing.
It stands between a OnePlus One or a Meizu phone. The UI of the Meizu might just push me to buy the upcoming MX4 if it has LTE.
Hmmm, since FlyMe 3.6.1A Meizu is already on KitKat 4.4!
