Jack Wong’s latest baby, the quad core Meizu MX, actually seems to be on track for an actual scheduled launch date!
Those of you familar with Meizu may remember the delays surrounding the Windows CE powered Meizu M8, then the Android powered M9 earlier this year, but the same fate has seemed to have missed the MX which looks set to launch on China’s National Day Holiday, 1st October.
Meizu M9 Prices Slashed In Preparation for Meizu MX Launch!
As a precursor to the next generation Meizu phone launch, the Chinese smartphone maker has already started to slash prices of it’s current Meizu M9 phone.

The M9 is now available without an SD card for 2009 Yuan ($314) for a new phone or 1600 Yuan ($250) for a reconditioned unit.
Along with the launch date, Jack Wong, Meizu CEO, also spilled a few more beans regarding the MX such as it will run a fully customised Android Gingerbread OS, will get a 4-inch, 960 x 64o resolution screen and will have the Chinese characters “梦想” (meng xiang) which means ‘dream’.
As reported before the MX will come in both 16-32GB versions with a choice of either a dual or quad-core CPU.
Prices are expected to be around 2999 Yuan ($470) for the 16GB version and 3999 Yuan ($620) for the 32GB version.
