Xiaomi Mi3 shows up on India’s Snapdeal.com sans price tag

That Xiaomi is looking to expand into the Indian market is no secret, but it looks like the expansion is happening at a faster pace than initially expected.

Earlier today, a listing offering the current Xiaomi flagship – the Xiaomi Mi3 – was found on popular Indian e-marketplace, Snapdeal.com. However, the listing comes sans a price tag, which means Xiaomi fans based in India can’t buy the device yet.

Since cellular 3G in India utilizes WCDMA networks, it is the Snapdragon 800 powered WCDMA version of the device that is found on the listing. The other – TD-SDCMA – variant comes with an NVIDIA Tegra 4 CPU, which however is limited to Chinese networks thanks to network incompatibility in other markets.

The Xiaomi Mi3 was launched in China in early September last year, and a launch in India is expected soon. The powerful smartphone comes with a 5-inch 1080p display, 2GB RAM, a Snapdragon 800 (WCDMA) or Tegra 4 (TD-SDCMA) CPU, a 13 mega-pixel main camera and a 3050mAh non-removable battery. Akin to other Xiaomi phones, the Mi3 runs on a heavily forked version of Android, dubbed MIUI by Xiaomi.

A few weeks back, a ‘test unit’ of the Xiaomi Mi3 landed in India, which makes us wonder about the time frame Xiaomi might have in mind for an Indian launch.

Xiaomi will have to fight hard for marketshare in India. The key is going to be VFM..i.e. Value for money..and A.S.S. i.e. assurance of after sale service. The Indian market might be huge..but Xiaomi really has to get some thing below Redmi into Indian market..to counter two current block busters i.e. Moto E & Micromax Unite 2 with its 4.7 inch quadcore for $ 115.

Micromax unite 2 and Moto E are crap. One with mediatek and the other with Qualcomm snapdragon 200.
Redmi 1s its much better than those and Mi3 are better than all

Problem is– u have not read/ comprehended my post..my post no where blesses Micromax or Moto phones..what is CLEARLY STATED IS that ‘Xiaomi has to get some thing below Redmi in to Indian Market’ in ORDER TO COUNTER THE TWO CURRENT best sellers..at around $ 115.price point..No where did i cast aspersions on the quality of Xiaomi Redmi or Mi3..Ricardo Alonso i live in India and do believe comprehend the Indian Mobile Market better than an outsider…in conclusion..Xiaomi, Oppo et. al. Will have to aim for ₹7000 price point mobiles..that is where volumes are !
