Nubia launch 3 amazing phones this week. One of them, the Nubia Z7 Mini costs only $242 in China and we think it has what it takes to beat the OnePlus One.
When OnePlus announced the OnePlus One, everyone was blown away by the phones specs considering its low price. But the One has been difficult to get hold of (possibly OnePlus holding off production while component costs drop) this has allowed other phone makers to close the gap.
The Nubia Z7 Mini is one of the phones which is now nipping at the heals of the OnePlus One. It’s specifications are mostly the same and the retail price is even lower at only 1499 Yuan ($242) in China. Let’s see how these two phones compare.

[komper pid=186,185]Nubia Z7 Mini Vs OnePlus One – Our take
Gizchina News of the week
Looking over the specifications of the OnePlus One and the Nubia Z7 we can seen similarities they both have 1080 FHD displays, Snapdragon 801 and LTE for example, and there are differences, the OPO has more RAM and a larger display, while the Z7 Mini has dual-SIM support.
The Nubia Z7 also has a 2Ghz processor and 2300mAh battery, but as it only has to handle a 5-inch display rather than the 5.5-inch panel of the OnePlus One we don’t think this will affect things too much. And as we have seen in Antutu benchmarks the Nubia Z7 Mini is a capable performer.
The big issue between the 2 phones is that the OPO (although a nightmare to buy) has been ‘launched’outside of China where as we still don’t know Nubia’s plans for a Z7 global launch. Still the Nubia Z7 mini costs only 1499 Yuan ($242), even through a reseller it could be had for the same price as a OPO plus you get dual-sim support and a micro SD card slot for up to 64GB cards
If you had a choice between the new Nubia Z7 Mini and the OnePlus One which would you choose to buy?
Onerplus for Cyanogen, unless ROM’s show up for the ZTE
I think nothing can be perfect..while Z7 mini ticks lot of boxes, they just pissed with a dwarf battery..the display might be 5inch..still is Android..min 3000 mAh. Is mandatory..Camera department OP O is very capable..but if Z7 mini is not comparable With Cam then NIX..
OPO should be compared to Z7 MAX
I would go for Z7 – dual sim is just mandatory for business people today. Plus, price is lower.
Only advantage for OPO is bigger battery and 0.5GHz per core, which is not so important in everyday use if you take into account that it OPO has bigger screen.
You forget many things that are better about the OPO
-1 more gig of RAM
-Cyanogen Mod Pre-installed
-Guarantee of OTA updates for two years (Z7 has no commitment like this)
-Very good Battery life. (6+ hours of on screen time) vs. Z7 with predicted 3-4 hours of on screen time
-(Personally, the OPO looks Much better)
-Massive OPO forum that finds fixes to what you may find buggy in the software in minutes
-Custom Cyanogen Mod build
-Constant Stream of updates for the OPO
-Here, gizchina makes an error. OPO offers 4g LTE as well
-Touch-On-Lens technology (+300% resistance to shattering screen)
-Global Avaliability (extremely important)
-Another error. Oneplus One is not “only” avaliable in white, but also sandstone black, kevlar, bamboo, wood, denim, etc.
-error #3, Oneplus is currently pretty much only manufacturing the 64 GB version
-Many other reasons. The Z7 is a very good phone for a very good price, but the OPO is superior.
and the yellow screen problem too
Yeah,well said Bro!
Fully agree.
And the dual “mono” speakers that they lied about while proclaiming Apple was lying, when actually they were. Apple has clearly stated their specs online.
OPO backtracked on a lot of things:
1. FM radio
2. Mystery battery technology that does fast charge
And for crying out loud, any customer should try buying that goddamned OnePlus phone!
Duh? Hasn’t the author mentioned 4G LTE in another field?
Did you read the article well? Unless you’re just nitpicking!
Sayonara.
The OPO looks better in your opinion, personally I think anything above a 5 in screen is just too much. Battery life will be almost dead even. ZTE has been very good with updates. Also you left out one major factor: ZTE doesn’t have super secret lists to get an option to buy their phones.
OPO look pretty much better than Z
Z7
you sould compare it with Z7 max not the mini.
Would gladly go in for ZTE, if and only if, they gave a better battery and more RAM
Yea I would just go for the Meizu MX4 if it had 5,1 or 5,2 inch screen and that nice customratio with dual sim LTE 😉
No seriously i dont think you can really compare the wto phones bc they are verry different
OPO is not the real phone. It is a big marketing hype. They will never sell 2 millions of this phone models. They give only very small amout invitations for the big marketing campaign the user make themselves.
